How to outsource your social media management

Social media is, by far, one of the best forms of marketing you have in business today. You can easily attract your ideal audience to your product or service when it’s done right.

Mostly, it’s free, and your reach is vast, with millions of people using social media every day.

But with all things in business, you need to set aside some time dedicated to your social media marketing. Not only do you need to create content your audience will love, but you need to share it, reply to comments and interact with your audience.

It’s all about knowing your audience and giving them what they need. And being active on your social media platforms is a significant part of this.

When all this starts sounding overwhelming and time-consuming, people start considering how to outsource their social media.

But it’s my business baby; how can I outsource my social media?

Many clients are hesitant about handing over the reins of their social media platforms. They feel they should be doing it themselves. After all, it’s your business baby, and you should be your voice, right?

As a social media manager, I take my role very seriously when clients trust me to represent their brand online. This is one trait you need to find in a social media manager!

It’s a big responsibility for anyone representing your business, and you want it done right.

You know the way you’re presented online (through your content, commenting, interaction, hashtag and graphic use and so on) can make or break sales with your ideal audience. And I know this too!

As a social media manager, how do I alleviate your concerns about social media outsourcing?

When we meet, I take the time to study’ your business and listen to your brand voice and messaging.

Together, we’ll run through a comprehensive questionnaire where I’ll ask you about your target audience, tone of voice, brand messaging, etc.

Don’t stress – this isn’t like a formal interview! But it’s best that you speak naturally with me so I can ‘hear’ how you talk to understand how you’d like to be portrayed online. Spending time listening to you is a sure-fire way to understand your objectives and voice.

The next step is to create a social media content plan. Once we’ve spoken and I know your goals for social media, I can create your content plan. A content plan includes what is posted, on what platform and on what date.

As the client, you review this and sign off when you are happy with the content.

From there, your social media starts to flow.

What’s the outcome of outsourcing your social media management?

My clients' feedback is that they feel a sense of relief from the mental load removal of outsourcing their social media. They know their social media marketing is now done strategically and effectively and that it’s happening without too much input from them.

I always encourage my clients to remain active online (e.g. replying to comments or DMs as often as possible).

However, I can also handle this side for you (being 100% transparent that I’m answering on your behalf) if it’s still too much overload for you to handle.

By having your content plan in place (that you’ve pre-approved), you also know that you’ve created a good mix of content that targets your target audience at their different stages of awareness.

Here’s some feedback from clients on their social media outsourcing experience.
